Excerpt from the book "The Illiterate Investor"

Learning to trade

Learning to trade is not as difficult as becoming a brain surgeon, but is not easy.Don’t expect trading to be a quick way to make money. Instead, consider trading as a learning process, if you want something done right ,do it yourself.Don’t assume someone else will do it for you!.

Trading requires dedication, concentration, and long hours of study.

The following is words of wisdom that once I read :

“we cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are” _Max de Pree

Like anything new,the beginning could be difficult and complicated. But once you get started it becomes easier.

Investing in the market is not as difficult as the so-called gurus would have us believe; you just need the essential building blocks and dedication.

The greatest obstacle in trading is the person you see every morning in the mirror.

Traders sabotage themselves by their inability to manage and control risk. Learn to manage yourself. Write trading plans, balance risk vs. rewards, keep a trading journal, and record after each trade so that you can review it whenever necessary
